When running reports from the Symantec Management Platform (SMP), the report returns only 50,000 rows when many more are expected.
By default all reports has an artificial limitation placed to limit any returns to 50,000 rows. This is by design and is to protect the Symantec Management Platform from reports that might otherwise slow down performance significantly, or even crash the Symantec Management Platform if written poorly (such as with a custom report).
Significant internal testing and customer feed-back has shown that this 50,000 row limit is ideal, and should not be tampered with without extreme caution.
There is a setting that can be used to increase this 50,000 rows return. It is "ReportMaxRowCount".
For Version SMP 7.x and 8.x path = C:\ProgramData\Symantec\SMP\Settings\coreSettings.config (edit file using Notepad++)
Make the follow change in the coreSettings.config (NS.Configurator doesn't display this setting):
<customSetting key="ReportMaxRowCount" type="local" value="50000" />
Changing this setting to value = "0" displays all rows available.
The rowcount command does change SQL’s execution; however the .NET control still stops at the value specified in ReportMaxRowCount.
