All attempts to Import a third party or self signed SSL Certificate into the Symantec Web Gateway fail with the message: "We're sorry, but we were unable to validate your certificate."

This issue can be caused by attempting to import an SSL Certificate that is not in DER / PEM format or attempting to use an SSL Key / Private Key that is protected with a pass phrase.
Be sure to check that the SSL Certificate meets the requirement for DER / PEM format and that the SSL Key / Private Key being used to verify the Certificate is not protected with a pass phrase.
To remove a pass phrase from the private key you may use a third party tool such as OpenSSL with the following command: openssl rsa -in key.pem -out server.key
