The pre-requisites to upgrade the components of Control Compliance Suite (CCS) 9.0.1 to Control Compliance Suite 10.0 are as follows:
-Install the Internet Information Server (IIS) on the computer on which the CCS Application Server is installed.
-Run the MandatePolicyMetricsGenerator.exe.
You must run this utility to generate mandate and policy metrics that are used in the dashboards. The MandatePolicyRollupGenerator.exe is located in the \Tools\PrepForUpgrade folder of the product disc.
Dynamic Dashboard in Control Compliance Suite 10.5 shows information about mandate and policy compliance using metrics. If you want the historical data from Control Compliance Suite 9.0.1 to be used in Control Compliance Suite 10.5, use the Mandate and Policy Metrics Generator Utility to calculate the metrics.
Symantec recommends that you run the utility before you upgrade from Control Compliance Suite 9.0.1 to 10.5 You have the option to skip the generation of metrics while you run the utility. If you skip running the utility, you are not able to use the utility again because the required data from Control Compliance Suite 9.0.1 databases is not available after migrating the databases to Control Compliance Suite 10.5. The data once generated is consumed by the Migration Utility and the data is stored in appropriate tables of Control Compliance Suite reporting database.
Symantec also recommends that you run Report data synchronization job in Control Compliance Suite 9.0.1 before you run this utility. If you do not run the utility, then the warning message stating that the Mandate and policy metric generator is not run is displayed. This message is displayed in the Prerequisite panel of the Installation Wizard. You do not need to run the utility for a fresh installation. The utility is located in the \Installset\Tools\PrepForUpgrade folder of the product disc.
The user who runs the utility should at least have the db_owner rights on the Reporting database. By default, the utility generates metrics for all custom policies. The utility may take substantial amount of time to calculate the metrics depending on the date range and the number of mandates selected.
