Issue

Apple BootCamp users running Mac OS X who upgrade from PGP Desktop 10.0.0/10.0.1 to PGP Desktop 10.0.2, may encounter an issue when attempting to boot to the Windows partition. After reboot and successful authentication at the PGP BootGuard screen, Windows might not load and instead, a black screen with a blinking cursor appears. No data loss has been encountered with this issue.

This issue only occurs on dual boot systems using Mac OS X Boot Camp.

Resolution


Workaround

  1. Boot to the Mac OS X partition.
  2. Open the Terminal application.
  3. Type the following command:

    pgpwde --disk 0 --set-int15h --no-install

  4. Press Enter.
This should update the system and allow the system to boot normally to Windows.
