When PGP Desktop 9.0.x is installed on a Windows based computer with certain HP printers installed a BSOD (blue screen failure) may result.
The BSOD may look like the following:
*** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF87BFC26, 0xF898C8BC, 0xF898C5B8)
*** PartMgr.sys - Address F87BFC26 base at F87BD000, DateStamp 3b7dc5a7
You may also see a different BSOD that looks like the following:
*** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC00000005, 0xA4AE3E1F, 0xBACFADE0, 0xBACFAADC)
Certain HP printer models use a driver which can cause the BSOD (blue screen failure). Among those identified as having potential problems with PGP Desktop 9.0.x are:
HP Photosmart p1000 and 7350, HP 450, HP Officejet 7310xi and others.
If you can uninstall the HP toolbox from your HP software installation then you may be able to workaround this issue. If not then you may not be able to use this printer in conjunction with PGP Desktop 9.0.x. This issue is corrected with PGP Desktop 9.5.x and above.
HP has been notified about this error in their driver software.
