In November 2018, Symantec introduced a new self-service Software Download capability within the ABEV. This capability allows downloads of the software for entitlements directly from the product details page in the ABEV. This download location is instead of having to go to multiple disparate legacy software download portals.
The ABEV (Account-Based Entitlement View) is an Entitlement Management Capability located within the ‘My Products’ tab in MySymantec. ABEV shows all entitlements that have been purchased under the account and provides access to product software and license keys.
Effective March 18, 2019, Symantec introduced a new Single Page view of entitled software downloads to MySymantec. The view shows a consolidated list of software downloads based on the assets within the user’s ABEV accounts. This view replaces the legacy Fileconnect software download portal for all users and partners.
ABEV can still be used to download software for an asset with a specific serial number.
Customer Purchase Cycle
Symantec products are typically purchased by the channel, which Symantec fulfills by sending a license key and a welcome letter. The letter contains instructions for accessing the product software by the legacy software download portal.
With the introduction of the ABEV, download the product software directly from the ABEV by the product details page as shown:

Single Page View of Entitled Software Downloads
Access the new capability by the ‘Software Downloads’ option in the "Downloads" tab in MySymantec as shown:
Selecting this menu option displays a consolidated list of software downloads based on the assets within user’s ABEV account. This software is arranged alphabetically by Product Family as shown:
The user can select the ‘Product List’ option to change the view to an alphabetically ordered list of Product Models if required.
Selecting a product family item displays a list of all available product models. Select one to display the available software as shown:
Selecting the version takes the user to the file selection and download experience. This location is the same as the location in the standard ABEV product details page, as shown:
Note the ABEV in the ‘My Products’ tab can still be used to download software for a particular serial number.
Click https://mysymantec.force.com/customer/s/ and enter your credentials to sign in your MySymantec account or if you don’t have an account then select ‘Create An Account’ and follow the instructions to create a new account.
