IT Management Suite 7.6

Starting from IT Management Suite 7.6, Symantec Management Platform and related solutions support the management of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 computers.

Following are the tested and supported components of IT Management Suite 7.6 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 client computers:

• Symantec Management Agent for UNIX, Linux, and Mac
• Task Management
• Deployment Solution
• Inventory Solution
• Monitor Solution
• Patch Management
• Software Management
• Virtual Machine Management.

Known limitations for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 client computers

 

The known issues for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 client computers are as follows:

Issue	Description
Deployment Solution is not supported.	Deployment Solution plugin is not supported on a computer with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
Unable to download packages on RHEL 7 computers.	On RHEL 7, packages cannot be downloaded from the package server.
RHEL 7 option is not available.	RHEL 7 option is not available in the Target Agent settings.

Issue	Description
The default Processor monitor policy is not detected on RHEL 7 and the policy does not fetch any data.	The default Processor monitor policy is not detected on RHEL 7 and the policy does not fetch any data.
Heartbeat is generated even when an RHEL 7 computer is shutdown.	Notification Server registers a heartbeat from an RHEL 7 computer even after the computer is shutdown.
Network monitor policy does not fetch data for all the metrics on RHEL 7.	Network monitor policy does not fetch data for all the metrics on RHEL 7. Workaround: Change the ethernet interface name from eth  to ens in the network metric scripts.
