Issue/Introduction

Symantec Support has indicated that you should gather a hardware diagnostics from your Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG) appliance to continue troubleshooting.

Environment

Symantec Messaging Gateway on a Dell hardware appliance.

Resolution

To collect a hardware diagnostic within the DRAC:

  1. Log in to DRAC (Dell Remote Access Card) using the credentials configured during the setup of the DRAC.
    For information on configuring the DRAC for the first time, see Configuring Initial iDRAC7 Network Settings
  2. Navigate to Troubleshooting > SupportAssist.
  3. Click "Export SupportAssist Collection".
  4. Click checkbox next to "I have read and agree to the terms and conditions".
  5. Click Continue.
  6. When finished, click OK to download to local machine.
    Be prepared to provide this diagnostic to Symantec Support upon request.
