Display URL category information on an Edge SWG (ProxySG) exception page that displays to the user

Issue/Introduction

The Edge SWG (ProxySG) can be configured to block users from accessing certain sites and URLs.  Educate users on why they are being blocked, using exception pages. An exception page explains why a user is denied access to the requested content and can be configured to list the content filtering category to the requested URL.

Resolution

To enable the exception page from the Edge SWG (ProxySG) Admin Console:

Administration > Content Filtering >  "Enable category review message in exceptions"

This option adds a link to the default content filter exception page when a user is denied a request for a Web Page. The exception page informs the user why a URL request is denied. The message that displays is:

"Your request was categorized by Blue Coat WebFilter as 'XXXXX'. If you wish to question or dispute this result, please click here."

When this option is enabled, the user can also click the link displayed on the exception page to request a review of the category assigned to the blocked URL, should they feel that the content was categorized inaccurately.

Additional Information

You CANNOT edit or customize this exception page (since this exception page is not from the built-in Edge SWG (ProxySG) exception list).
