The false positive Email Submission tool displays the message “This email is not classified as spam” when uploading an email sample.

Cause

The Email False Positive Submissions tool checks email samples against the current AntiSpam policies within the detection methods Skeptic heuristics and signaturing systems. The tool will accept email samples for investigation only if the email is still classified as spam

Resolution

There are several reasons why email previously classified as spam is no longer classified as such.

AntiSpam policies have been removed or amended since the original problem occurred

The AntiSpam policies that originally classified the email as spam, within the detection methods Skeptic heuristics and signaturing systems, have been removed or amended since the original problem occurred.

AntiSpam policies are updated in real-time, 24x7, based on the latest intelligence.

No further action is required to prevent the sample from being classified as spam.

The email was not classified as spam specifically by Skeptic heuristics or signaturing systems

It wasn’t the AntiSpam detection methods, Skeptic heuristics or signaturing systems, which classified the email as spam.

To determine if the original emai lwas classified as spam by these detection methods, see:

Spam detected heuristically

The tags, “X-Spam-Flag: YES” and “X-SpamInfo: spam detected heuristically,” are appended to the internet header of emails that are classified as spam by Skeptic Heuristics.

Alternative Track and Trace search result displays "Anti-Spam" under the Service column and "spam detected heuristically” as the reason.

Filtered by Signaturing System

The tags, “X-Spam-Flag: YES” and “X-SpamInfo: filtered by Signaturing System,” are appended to the internet header of emails that are classified as spam by Skeptic Heuristics.

Alternative Track and Trace search result displays "Anti-Spam" under the Service column and "filtered by Signaturing System” as the reason.
