Microsoft announced in TechNet Blog they will be making changes in how Software Updates are managed in 2017 and detailed that following January 2017's release, so all Software Updates will be sorted and deployed as detailed in the Security Update Guide moving forward, and resulting in a change to how Software Updates are managed and deployed in Patch Management Solution via these Bulletin ID's (e.g. MS16, MS17 etc.) in multiple locations such as the Patch Remediation Center and Reports.

Bulletin name breakdown of as follows for MS##-PP-##:

  • MS: Microsoft
  • ##: Year released
  • ##: Month released
  • PP: Product
