End of Availability Announcement for NSX Network Introspection for Security

Issue/Introduction

This knowledge article is to provide general information on the End of Availability announcement for the Network Introspection feature for Security in VMware NSX product. VMware will discontinue Network Introspection for Security feature after the last NSX 4.2.x release or until October 11, 2027 whichever is earlier. 

VMware will continue to support the Network Introspection for Security feature for customers with active contracts until the End of the General Support of NSX 4.2.x release or until October 11, 2027 whichever is earlier. For customers who wish to renew or expand existing deployments with this feature (until the last NSX 4.2.x release or October 11, 2027 whichever is earlier), VMware vDefend Firewall license purchase will be required.

Note: This End of Availability announcement does not apply to the East-West Network Introspection Copy use case

Resolution

With the discontinuation of the Network Introspection for Security feature, we recommend customers deploy VMware Firewall with Advanced Threat Prevention for their virtualized environment. Please contact VMware Sales for more information.
