Issue/Introduction

This article provides information on the Cancellation and Retake Policy for VMware exams. 

Notes:
1. VMware Online Proctored Exams: Proctored exam means that the exam should be taken in a Pearson Vue Test Center (VCP, VCTA, VCAP etc.)

2. VMware Online Non-Proctored Exams: Non-Proctored exam means that the exam can be taken at home, office, etc (Foundation, Vsan etc.)

3. As per the COVID-19 update, all the exams are available online except for VCAP-Deploy.

Resolution

Cancellation policy for VMware Online Proctored and Non-Proctored Exams:
  • If the candidates are facing any technical issue, they can either Cancel/Reschedule the exam from their end or contact Pearson VUE.
  • Per the new policy, any exam can be cancelled before it starts, or before the delivery period expires.
  • Exam fees are non- refundable for no-shows, and vouchers cannot be replaced. 

Retake policy for VMware Proctored Exams:
  • There is a seven (7) calendar day waiting period after all failed attempts for proctored VMware certification exams. For example, if a candidate fails the exam on March 1, then they may retake the exam on March 8 or later.
  • Once a candidate passes a proctored exam, they cannot take that exam again until a new major exam revision is released.

Retake policy for VMware Online Non-Proctored Exams:
  • There is no waiting period after a failed attempt, for a VMware Online Non-Proctored Exams. On-proctored online exams include VMware Certified.
  • Once a candidate passes a non-proctored exam, they cannot take that exam again until a new major exam revision is released.

Rescheduling Policy for Offline Proctored exam:
  • If you wish to reschedule your exam, you can either do it from your end or contact Pearson VUE at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled exam appointment.
  • The reschedule policy in Pearson VUE system requires at least 24-hour notice in advance from the candidate’s exam appointment time. Rescheduling an exam less than 24 hours before scheduled exam is subject to forfeiture of your exam fee. Exam fees are due for no-shows.

Cancellation Policy for Offline Proctored exam:
  • If you wish to cancel your exam, you can either do it from your end or contact Pearson VUE one business day prior to your exam appointment. 
  • The cancellation policy in Pearson VUE system requires at least 24-hour notice in advance from the candidate’s exam appointment time. Cancelling an exam less than 24 hours before scheduled exam is subject to forfeiture of your exam fee. Exam fees are due for no-shows.
