Issue/Introduction
The purpose of this knowledge-based article is to showcase the pre-requisite configurations in order to discover vRA services, in cases where vRA nodes run behind a Load Balancer.
Symptoms: vRA 8.x Services are not getting discovered through SDDC Management Pack for a vRA that is running behind an LB. vRA Objects get discovered fine. 8.1.1 Build 16522887 vRA is behind the LB User credential is confirmed to have required rights Working fine with single node vRA in the same environment
Environment
VMware vRealize Operations 8.1.x
Cause
Port forwarding for port 8008 is not configured on the Load Balancer.
Resolution
Below are the steps for creating a port forwarding application profile on NSX-v LB,
Create a new application profile
Add the Existing Service monitor details ( if available or create a new one with the following values )
Create a New Pool for the SDDC-vRA monitoring with the vRA nodes as members with the port as 8008 and also the monitoring port as 8008 with the same (443) Service monitor details
Now in the Virtual Server, create a new virtual server with the same load balancer IP address and choose the protocol like HTTP and port number as 8008 with the newly created pool.
Now the LB status should be up for the newly added pool as well.
NOTE: Once this configuration is completed successfully, the SDDC MP should be able to collect all the vRA 8.x Services.
Workaround: No workaround refer to steps in the resolution section
