[VMC on AWS] How to verify if TRIM/UNMAP feature is enabled for vSAN in a SDDC

Issue/Introduction

This article explains how to verify if the TRIM/UNMAP feature for vSAN is enabled in an SDDC.


Resolution

  • Login to SDDC vCenter via vSphere UI.
  • Select the Cluster. 
  • Navigate to Configure -> vSAN -> Services. 
  • Expand Advanced Option tile and look for Guest Trim/Unmap as shown in the screenshot.




Alternatively, you can leverage VMware PowerCli for vSAN and use the Get-VsanClusterConfiguration cmdlet

By default, the support for Trim/Unmap is not enabled.
