Selecting "Use default repository" does not show vCenter Server 7.0 Update 1 as an option in the VAMI

Issue/Introduction

This article provides a workaround to patch vCenter Server to 7.0 Update 1.

Symptoms:
In the Virtual Appliance Management Interface (VAMI) on "Update" tab, you do not see vCenter Server 7.0 Update 1 as an available update when the option "Use default repository" is selected.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 7.0.x

Resolution

This issue is seen in vCenter Server 7.0GA, 7.0.0a, 7.0.0b, 7.0.0c, 7.0.0d, 7.0U1, 7.0U1a releases.

Currently, there is no resolution.

Workaround:
To work around this issue, use one of these options:

• Use the off-line patching with the Use custom repository 

OR

• Use the VCSA Patch ISO.
