Environment

VMware vSAN 7.0.x

Resolution

Q: What does the Stretched Cluster - Shared witness cluster number of data hosts exceed number check do?
A: Currently, VMware only supports 2-node Stretch clusters in a shared witness cluster. If the shared witness cluster is configured, it checks the data hosts number in all shared witness clusters with a shared witness node.

Q: What does it mean if it shows in an error state?
A: The error state for this check indicates there are more than two data hosts in the shared witness cluster. The number of data hosts of any stretched cluster with shared witness should not exceed 2.

Q: How do I fix the error state?
A: To fix this error state, move the extra data hosts out of the cluster to keep the shared witness cluster as a 2-node Stretch cluster.
