Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:
  • Logging in to vCenter Server appliance shell/console fails.
  • In the top/task manager of the PSC node, you would see 100% CPU utilization of lwiod command.

  • In the var/log/messages.log, you see entries similar to:
Unable to execute the query as the CPU is unable to process it. The command just freezes






Environment

VMware vCenter Server 6.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs when the lwiod process runs at 100% CPU utilization and is loaded heavily .

Resolution

  • This issue is resolved in VMware vCenter Server 6.0 Update 3, available at VMware Downloads
