Summaries and Symptoms

This patch resolves the following issue:

  • The NTP package is updated to address a stability issue.

  • After you upgrade to ESXi 6.0 Patch Release, ESXi600-201507001, from earlier releases of ESXi 6.0, you might encounter some issues when performing Active Directory related operations. For further information, see KB 2120522.

  • This patch updates the tools-light resolve an issue where attempts to perform a quiesced snapshot on a virtual machine running Microsoft Windows 2008 or later might fail and the VM might panic with a blue screen and error message similar to the following:

    A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

    Disable or uninstall any anti-virus, disk defragmentation or backup utilities. Check your hard drive configuration, and check for any updated drivers. Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

Patch Download and Installation

An ESXi system can be updated using the image profile, by using the esxcli software profile command. For details, see the vSphere Command-Line Interface Concepts and Examples and the VMware vSphere Upgrade Guide. ESXi hosts can also be updated by manually downloading the patch ZIP file from the Patch Manager Download Portal and installing the VIB by using the esxcli software vib command.
