Issue/Introduction

This article provides the default location of the VMware vCenter Server logs. For other VMware vCenter Server versions, see Location of vCenter Server log files (1021804).

Environment

VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.x
VMware vCenter Server 6.x

Resolution

The VMware vCenter Server 6.x logs are located in the %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\VMWare\vCenterServer\logs folder.

The VMware vCenter Server Appliance 6.x logs are located in the /var/log/vmware/ folder.

 

vCenter Server logs are grouped by component and purpose in these sub-directories:
