Resolution

You can collect diagnostic information for vCloud Usage Meter from the vCloud Usage Meter Web interface.
To collect the diagnostic information:
  1. Navigate to https://IP:8443/um, where IP is the IP address of the vCloud Usage Meter virtual machine.
  2. Provide the Service Provider or Aggregrator password.
  3. Click the Support tab.
  4. In vCloud Usage Meter 2.x, click Get Appliance Log File. A .tgz file is created in the default download directory for the user/browser.
  5. In vCloud Usage Meter 3.x, Click Generate under the Support Bundle section. A link to the support bundle is displayed on the page after the bundle is generated.
  6. Upload the support bundle to VMware. For more information, see Uploading diagnostic information to VMware (1008525).
The diagnostic information collected can then be uploaded to VMware Technical Support. To uniquely identify your information, use the Support Request (SR) number you received when you opened your Support Request.

For more information about opening a support request, see How to File a Support Request.
Note: In vCloud Usage Meter 3.x, if the Web interface is not available, you can generate a diagnostic bundle from the command-line of the vCloud Usage Meter virtual machine.

To generate the log bundle from the command prompt, use this command:
/opt/vmware/cloudusagemetering/scripts/support/create-support-bundle

This command creates a .tgz file in the /usr/local/apache-tomcat-7.0.14/webapps/um/bundleDir/ directory.

Note: In vCloud Usage Meter 3.2 the command creates a .tgz file in /usr/local/tcserver/vfabric-tc-server-standard/um/webapps/um/bundleDir/ .
