vShield/NSX Manager Web interface does not update in VMware vCloud Networking and Security 5.x and NSX for vSphere 6.x

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

• The Web interface to vShield/NSX Manager does not get updated
• You see this message next to the vShield Manager product after the installation:
  
  Not applicable to ESX version below 4.1

Environment

VMware vCloud Networking and Security 5.5.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.3.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.0.x
VMware vCloud Networking and Security 5.1.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.4.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.2.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.1.x

Resolution

To resolve this issue, disable and then re-enable Web services.

To disable and re-enable Web services:

1. Log in to the vShield/NSX Manager virtual machine using the admin credential:
    
2. To enable root privilege, run this command:
   
   enable
    
3. Enter the admin password again.
   
   Note: Use this privileged command only under the direction of VMware Support.
    
4. Run this command to configure the terminal:
   
   config t
    
5. Run this command to disable the Web services:
   
   no web-manager
    
6. Wait for a second or two and then enable the Web service using this command:
   
   web-manager
    
7. Run this command twice to exit the system:
   
   exit <enter>
    
8. Reload the client to see the changes.
