To prevent the automatic detection/display of the Boot Camp partition in Fusion, delete the entry from Fusion's Virtual Machine Library.
To delete the entry:
- Ensure that the Boot Camp partition is not running ("Powered on") in Fusion.
- In Fusion, go to Window > Virtual Machine Library.
- Right-click the Boot Camp partition entry in the Library, and click Delete.
- When prompted, select Move To Trash. This deletes the files which Fusion created to launch the Boot Camp partition. It does not affect the Boot Camp partition.
To re-add the Boot Camp partition into the Virtual Machine Library:
In Fusion 10.x,8.x, 7.x, 6.x and 5.x:
- Right-click the VMware Fusion icon in the dock and click Virtual Machine Library.
- Click Add + button at the upper left corner in the Virtual Machine Library.
- Select New Boot Camp.
In Fusion 4.x:
- Go to Window > Virtual Machine Library in the Apple menu bar.
- At the bottom of the Library, select Run Boot Camp.
Note: If you are not seeing Run Boot Camp option in Virtual Machine Library, then it means that you do not have a physical Boot Camp partition on your Mac.
In Fusion 3.x:
- Go to Window > Virtual Machine Library in the Apple menu bar.
- In the column on the left side, select Home.
- In the column on the right side, select Run Windows from your Boot Camp partition.
