How to Patch Fast Data Masker (FDM)

Issue/Introduction

This article provides instructions for applying a full rebuild patch for the Fast Data Masker (FDM) application.

!IMPORTANT The FDM patch is a full rebuild installer that automatically performs an upgrade of your existing application.

The FDM 

Phase 1: Preparation & Backups

1. Backup: Create a backup copy of your current FDM directory.
   • Default Windows Path: C:\Program Files\Grid-Tools\FastDataMasker
2. Download: Extract the patch file to a temporary directory:
   • Windows: FastDataMasker-<build_release>.zip
   • Linux: FastDataMasker-<build_release>.tar.gz

Phase 2: Installation

1. Run Installer: Right-click setup_FastDataMasker.exe and select Run as Administrator.
   
   
2. Wizard Steps: Follow the installation wizard prompts to complete the upgrade.
   
   
   

Phase 3: Post-Upgrade & Verification

1. Restart: Launch the FDM application.
   
   
2. Test: Retest your scenario to verify the resolution.
