How to Patch GTSubSet

Issue/Introduction

This article provides instructions for patching the GTSubSet application.

The GTSubSet patch is not a full installation of the GTSubSet application, and only contains the patched files, which need to be replaced inside the GTDatamaker install directory.

!IMPORTANT Subset configuration files (Rules files and Connection profiles) are lost during upgrades. You must back up these files before proceeding if they are stored in the GTDatamaker folder.

Phase 1: Preparation & Backups

1. Backup Config Files: Save your Rules files and Connection profiles to a secure location outside the installation directory.
   • Create a backup copy of the entire GTDatamaker directory.
     • Default Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Grid-Tools\GTDatamaker

Phase 2: Installation

1. Extract Patch: As an Administrator, extract the contents of SubSet-<build_release>.zip directly into the GTDatamaker installation folder, overwriting existing files when prompted.
2. Restart Application: Launch the Subset UI.
   
   

Phase 3: Post-Upgrade & Verification

1. Verify: Retest your specific scenario to confirm the fix is active.
