Issue/Introduction

Failed to install qlnativefc driver 5.4.86.0 to ESXi 8.0U2 or older host with below error.

[DependencyError]
On platform embeddedEsx, VIB MVL_bootbank_qlnativefc_5.4.86.0-1OEM.803.0.0.24022510 requires vmkapi_2_13_0_0, but the requirement cannot be satisfied within the ImageProfile.

Environment

VMware ESXi 8.0U2

Cause

The driver is made for ESXi 8.0U3 or later because it requires vmkapi_2_13_0_0 which is introduced in ESXi 8.0U3.

Resolution

To install the driver correctly, upgrade ESXi to Update 3 or later.
Once the host is on Update 3, vmkapi_2_13_0_0 requirement will be satified, and the driver installation will proceed without any errors.
