Issue/Introduction

- Customer are unable to power on or off any VMs within the affected oVDC.

- When attempting to power on these VMs via the vCD tenant portal, the following error is displayed:

Details: Method vim.ResourcePool.moveInto threw undeclared fault of type vim.fault.invalidState

- In vCenter, we observed that all of these VMs are currently located in the resource pool of a different oVDC belonging to the same organization.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.x

Resolution

1. Perform a move operation on the three problematic virtual machines through the VCD UI. This will confirm that the oVDC where the virtual machines reside is consistent with the vCenter resource pool shown for these virtual machines in the VCD interface.

2. Log into the VMware Cloud Director Provider UI, navigate to Infrastructure Resources > vCenter Server instances, select the target vCenter Server, and click Reconnect. This action forces VCD to resynchronize the database inventory mapping procedures with vCenter MoRefs.

3.Move the VM back to original oVDC and reconnect the vCenter instance again, then try to power on these VM.

4. If the issue persists after completing above steps, please contact the Broadcom support team for further assistance.
