When there is an ongoing issue with VCF Management Services, it may not be possible to generate a support bundle using the standard mechanism of triggering from the Fleet Lifecycle UI or API. In such cases, we need a mechanism to trigger and download a support bundle for the VCF management services programmatically using the VCF Services Runtime API.
VCF 9.1
Support bundle collection is only available through the UI by default. In environments where UI access is unavailable or automation is required, the API can be used directly.
An interactive script (Version 9.1) is now attached to this article to automate bundle downloads for VCF Service Runtime and VCFA clusters.
To use the script, you only need to provide the VCF services runtime FQDN for the target VCFA or VCF Management Services cluster. The script will securely prompt for your password and automatically complete the rest of the download process.
Below is the example for the Script in action:
./9.1-download-support-bundle.sh
VCF Services runtime FQDN (e.g. platform.example.com): vmsp-platform.vrack.vsphere.local
