Issue/Introduction

• You select the Protection Groups tab > Protection Group > Virtual Machines tab in Live Site Recovery.
• When you check a virtual machine and select Configure Protection, the message "Unable to retrieve VM properties" appears and the protection settings cannot be displayed.
• You are logged in as a non-administrator user.

Environment

VMware Live Site Recovery 

Cause

The issue is due to insufficient permissions for the logged-in user to view the VM protection configuration.

Resolution

You need to log in as an administrator.
