Issue/Introduction

Support for Carbon Black EDR Container Mode will be discontinued effective March 1, 2027. Carbon Black EDR version 7.9.0 will be the final release that supports Container Mode deployments. Subsequent CB EDR releases will not include container mode deployment support.

   No. There is no loss of functionality when deploying Carbon Black EDR in RPM mode. All existing EDR capabilities remain fully supported. 
4. What happens if I continue using Container Mode after EOL?
   After the EOL date:

  • Continued use may introduce security, compliance, and operational risks

5. What is the recommended alternative?
   Customers are encouraged to migrate to Carbon Black EDR RPM mode, which will receive ongoing feature enhancements, updates, and full support.
6. Will RPM mode provide equivalent capabilities?
   Yes. RPM mode delivers the same core EDR capabilities and is the strategic deployment model for Carbon Black EDR moving forward.
7. Will my existing license work with RPM mode?
   Yes. There is no impact to your existing license. Licensing requirements are not tied to the deployment mode, so you can transition from Container Mode to RPM mode without any changes to your current entitlements.
