vCenter Converter 9.0.0 can't run on windows server 2016

vCenter Converter 9.0.0 failed with the following error:

The procedure entry point SetThreadDescription could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files(x86)\VMware\VMware vCenter Converter Standalone\Qt6Core.dll

Environment

Windows Server 2016

Cause

If your Windows Server 2016 is not fully patched, kernel32.dll doesn’t export SetThreadDescription, which causes Qt6-based apps to fail at startup.

Resolution

Install vCenter Converter 9.0.0 on Windows Server 2019.
