Can't Access Aria Operations Plugin from vSphere

Issue/Introduction

When trying to use the Aria Operations plugin in vCenter, you only see the following error:

401 Unauthorized Error: Unable to authorize VMware Aria Operations/vCenter Server API with provided credentials

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

In the vCenter adapter integration in Aria Operations UI, there is a "/" towards the end of the vCenter Server URL or IP address.

Resolution

In Aria Operations UI:

  1. Go to Administration > Integrations.
  2. Locate the vCenter adapter, then click on the 3 dots next to it, then click Edit.
  3. In the vCenter Server field, remove the trailing "/" character.
  4. Save the integration.
