Issue/Introduction

  • When trying to update VMware tools in the vCenter you encounter the error below
    HA Admission Control (HAC) is disabled for cluster

  • When checking settings for HAC, you confirm it is enabled
  • There are errors seen in the /var/log/vmware/vmware-updatemgr/vum-server logs as below:
    • Reason = "vLCM Task failed, see Error Stack for details."

  • UMDS Shared Repository URL is not working

Resolution

  • Reboot the NIC on the UMDS Repository side
