Health Indicator for Not Using Shared Memory Triggered in Two Tier Environment

Issue/Introduction

• App Control Server is installed on a separate application server from SQL Server (Two Tier Environment).
• A Health Indicator recommending Shared Memory is triggering.

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft SQL Server: All Supported Versions
• Two Tier Environment

Cause

The logic used to verify the App Control Server is installed in a Single Tier environment is wrongly triggering in the Two Tier environment.

Resolution

Engineering is aware of this issue (EPCB-20672) and a fix will be included in a future release of the App Control Server. In the meantime no changes are necessary to SQL Server and the Health Indicator can safely be ignored.

Additional Information

• Disabling the TCP/IP Protocol in SQL Server, in a Two Tier environment, may cause the Console to become unavailable.
• While not recommended, if desired the Health Indicator could be manually deleted.
