Azure Cloud implementation of VMware Avi Load Balancer uses Azure Basic LB for various purposes such as Cluster VIP configuration, vsVIP placement and Public IPs. The existing deployed VMware Avi ALB with Cluster VIP Azure basic SKU will stay till September 30, 2025 and after that data traffic will stop working. As a result, customers require a migration path from Basic to Standard SKU of Cluster VIP. This doc presents the steps to migrate to Standard ALB for Avi Resources.

No, a Public IP is not directly supported as a Cluster VIP for the Avi Load Balancer Controller in an Azure Cloud environment. The Cluster VIP must reside within the same virtual network (vNET) as the Avi Load Balancer Controllers to ensure proper connectivity and operation
Note: Public IPs are primarily used for Virtual Service VIPs (VS VIPs) and Azure DNS integration.
