Site Recovery Plug-in displays "Unknown error. The latest version of Site Recovery UI is not available. Some functionality might be limited" on the SRM appliance

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When accessing the Site Recovery Plug-in from vCenter, the following error is displayed:

• "Site Recovery Manager - UI error: Unknown error. The latest version of Site Recovery UI is not available. Some functionality might be limited"
  
  

Environment

• VMware Live Site Recovery Manager 8.x
• VMware Live Site Recovery Manager 9.x
• VMware vSphere Replication 8.x
• VMware vSphere Replication 9.x
• VMware vCenter Server 7.x
• VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

• The certificate in the SRM VAMI is assigned to a short name/incorrect FQDN that does not match the actual host name.
• In var/log/vmware/dr-client-plugin/drplugin.log  below events will be seen.

• /opt/vmware/support/logs/dr-client-plugin/drplugin.log on the vLSR or vSphere Replication appliance will show similar errors regarding the NetBios or short name
• Checking health using URL: https://[shortname]:443/drserver
• Java.net.UnknownhostException: [shortname]

Resolution

• Regenerate the certificate with the correct FQDN via SRM VAMI and re-register SRM with vCenter to clear the alert.

Note : Make sure VC can resolve configured SRM, vSphere replication hostnames.
