Wrong property showing the number of vCPUs is used in out-of-the-box view
Aria Operations: 8.17.2
It's a known issue. Currently, 8.17.2, 8.18.x , VCF 9.0 is affected.
Solution:
The workaround (until the issue is fixed) is to edit the Virtual Machine Utilization Summary view and to replace the property "Configuration|Hardware|Number of virtual sockets" with "Configuration|Hardware|Number of virtual CPUs" property.
Here are the detailed steps:
1. Filter the Virtual Machine Utilization Summary view in the Views list and edit it.
2. Go to Data tab and remove the first data entry in the list to remove the wrong property.
3. Expand the properties list in the left pane and find the "Properties -> Configuration -> Hardware -> Number of virtual CPUs" property. You can also input the name in the Search field. Double click it and it will appear in the properties list on the right.
4. Drag & drop the property to the top of the properties list, select it and enter the "vCPU" (or another desired label) as the metric label name in the corresponding input field on the right.
5. Save the view. The report using the view should now provide the correct values
