Server backlog issues with App Control versions 8.10.4 and 8.11.0 ONLY

Issue/Introduction

• App Control Server 8.10.4 and 8.11.0 could see a growing server-side backlog
• The Server-backlog Health Indicator triggers an alert

Environment

• App Control Server: 8.10.4 and 8.11.0
• Microsoft SQL Server: All Supported Versions

Cause

• App Control Server 8.10.4 and 8.11.0 are designed to do regular inserts that require table locks to process the changes
• This locking happens so frequently that it stops the backlog progressing on the server

Resolution

WARNING: EPCB-22484 Scripts are NOT designed for versions 8.11.2 and higher. It will break backlog processing.

• Upgrade to Server 8.11.4 (or higher)
• Upgrade the Rules Installer to version 1.30 (or higher)

• If an upgrade is not immediately possible, open a case with Support and request the hotfix for EPCB-22484
