VMware vSphere 7.x/8.x with Tanzu
To convert the baseline cluster to image cluster, you must first switch the cluster which is not yet enabled for Workload Management to use images and then enable vSphere Supervisor on that cluster.
For more information, see the Requirements(Note) section of the vSphere Lifecycle Manager and vSphere Supervisor.
In vSphere 9.0 and later, you can seamlessly transition a live Supervisor Cluster from vLCM baselines to vLCM images in place. This process works exactly like transitioning a standard compute cluster and does not require disabling the container control plane or disrupting running workloads.
For detailed guidance, please refer to the official documentation: vSphere Lifecycle Manager and vSphere Supervisor (9.0)
