Issue/Introduction
This article provides detailed steps on how to download patches and full releases for vCenter Server from the Broadcom portal.
Environment
VMware vCenter Server
Resolution
1. Visit the Broadcom Support Portal Downloads site and sign in
Note: If you do not see "My Downloads- VMWare Cloud foundation" you may be on "My Downloads - Enterprise Software". Follow the below image to go to "VMware Cloud Foundation"
2. Select VMware vSphere from the list of the products or use the search to narrow down the products first
[IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ]
Currently, the Products and Solutions tabs contain a lot of overlap, but generally speaking, the following is true:
- Patch packages will exist under Solutions
- Example: VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-8.0.3.00400-24322831-patch-FP.iso
- Full installation media will exist under Products
- Example: VMware-VCSA-all-8.0.3-24022515.iso, VMware-vCenter-Server-Appliance-8.0.3.00000-24022515-updaterepo.zip
If you do not see the file you are looking for under one tab, it is likely under the other one.
3. Choose the Products or Solutions Tab depending on the type of installation media and version you wish to download and click on the release of vCenter you are interested in downloading.
Products Tab
1. From the Dropdown menu, ensure the correct release you wish to download is selected, accept the Terms and Conditions, and click the Download Button next to the type of install media you need.
Note: If you do not see the version you are looking for, try the Solutions Tab instead.
Solutions Tab
1. From the dropdown menu, ensure the correct major release you wish to download is selected and click the link for the specific version you are interested in.
2. Accept the Terms and Conditions (if applicable) and click the download button for the desired installation media type.
