Error: "Validation error on field 'phone': The phone number contains invalid characters or its format is unrecognized" while enabling/disabling user

Issue/Introduction

• In the VMware Cloud Director Provider Portal/Tenant Portal > Administration Tab > Under Provider Access Controls > Users > Select the user > Unable to disable/enable

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

• This issue occurs when the phone number field for any user in the usr table of the VCD database contains '-' symbol. This prevents the user from being disabled or enabled via the VCD UI.

Resolution

• Database modifications are required to update the value of the user.
