Issue/Introduction

• The Services field within a DFW rule contains a circled 'i' icon.
• Hovering over this icon reveals an error message - "Not able to fetch entity details. This entity may belong to other location."

Environment

NSX 3.2.x

Cause

If OpenSearch is overloaded and unable to process data efficiently, index refreshes may fail. In these cases, objects within the affected indexing batch should be considered as failed, as they will not be retrievable through search queries.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in VMware NSX 4.2.0

Workaround:

Issue the non-impactful command "start search resync all" on all NSX managers

Additional Information

• The resync command may temporarily impact the UI, resulting in missing configurations or indexing errors.
  • This is expected behavior while the system reindexes the data.
  • Normal functionality will resume within approximately one hour.
