NFS shared storage volume getting full in VMware Cloud Director

Issue/Introduction

• NFS File share ( /opt/vmware/vcloud-director/data/transfer) consumption from VMware Cloud Director is using almost all of the space available.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.x

Cause

This is issue occurs when the feature "Enable early catalog export to optimize synchronization" for a catalog is enabled. When published it causes VMware Cloud Director to keep folders which contains files (such as vmdks) instead of automatically removing the folder.

Resolution

If the feature "Enable early catalog export to optimize synchronization" is required to publish a catalog you will need to add extra storage space to store the published catalog at the Transfer Server storage location (NFS share).
