Clicking NSX Home in the vSphere Web Client reports the error: NSX Manager Internal Error. Review the NSX Manager log for details or contact your administrator - Unexpected Status Code 503

Issue/Introduction

Symptoms:

When you connect to vCenter Server using the vSphere Web Client and navigate to Home > Neworking and Security, you experience these symptoms:

• There are no NSX managers available.
• Under Networking & Security Inventory, you see that NSX Managers is reported as 0.
• When you select NSX Home, you see the error:

NSX Manager Internal Error. Review the NSX Manager log for details or contact your administrator - Unexpected Status Code 503.

Environment

VMware NSX for vSphere 6.1.x
VMware NSX for vSphere 6.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs when Virtual Center Web management services are not started or when the browser is in an error state.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, close the browser and restart it, or try a different browser.

To work around this issue if the preceding steps does not resolve the issue:

1. Log in to the NSX Manager via the Web UI.
2. Click View Summary.
3. Ensure that the NSX Management Service is running.
