Issue/Introduction

What are the special characters not supported in the App Control service account password?

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions

Resolution

The App Control service account password should never contain leading or trailing spaces and the following special characters:

' " { } ( ) > | \ /

Additional Information

• If the App Control service account contains any of the unsupported characters it may lead to unexpected issues, like unavailable Console, failure to install or upgrade.
• Changing the Password for the App Control Service Account and IIS identity
• Using a Managed Service Account (gMSA) for Server Install
