Issue/Introduction
Steps to change the Server Address (hostname) of the App Control Server.
Environment
App Control Agent: All Supported Versions
App Control Server: All Supported Versions
Resolution
Verify the DNS Server has entries to:
Forward the old Server Address to the new Server Address.
Resolve the new Server Address accordingly.
Log in to the Console and navigate to System Configuration > General > Edit.
Update the
Server Address
to match the new name.
Once the changes have been applied:
It is recommended to use a
Subject Alternative Name
.
The Agent Server Certificate
will need to be updated
.
The Certificate bound to Port 443 in
IIS will need to be updated
.
Existing Agents will continue to attempt to connect via the old Server Address, unless manually updated using the
setserver command
.
If SAML is in use,
the Identity Provider may need to be reconfigured
with the updated XML containing the new hostname.
Additional Information
An Agent Upgrade will not change the Server Address the Agent uses.
If the Console is inaccessible after making the changes,
verify or make changes as outlined here
.
