Issue/Introduction

Steps to change the Server Address, FQDN, or hostname of the App Control Server.

Environment

  • App Control Agent: All Supported Versions
  • App Control Server: All Supported Versions

Resolution

  1. Verify the DNS Server has entries to
    • Forward the old Server Address to the new Server Address.
    • Resolve the new Server Address accordingly.
    • Important Do not proceed until the DNS & networking changes are confirmed to be working.
  2. Update the Server Address to match the new name
    1. Log in to the Console and navigate to Settings > System Configuration > General > Edit.
    2. Change the Server Address to match the new name.
  3. Update the Communication Certificate
    1. In the Console navigate to Settings > System Configuration > Security
    2. Follow the steps to replace the Communication Certificate.
      • Be sure to use a Subject Alternative Name with the old Server Address.
      • Be sure to note the Certificate Update Schedule and specify accordingly.
  4. Update the IIS Certificate
  5. Additional steps may be required depending on the environment
