Issue/Introduction

The following messages are displayed in the syslog of Vantage:

VAN0298E ACB VANTA1 did not Open, Error Code 5A

VAN0290E Open ACB Retry Limit Exceeded

Environment

VAN0289e message - ACB %1CV did not Open - Error Code %2X2

Reason:

The VTAM interface did not succeed in opening an ACB with the name %1CV.

Action:

For the Open ACB error codes %2X2(hex), see the IBM manual VTAM Programming.

If the 3270 View interface is not being used and the COMP=SNA is not in a comment card, to stop these messages this 'COMP=SNA' card should be commented out and the Vantage STC recycled.
