The simplified process is as follows:
Note: When you boot a system from a Ghost Windows PE USB Boot disk, it will mount the
Boot Disk itself as drive D: (or other depending on the number of disks and partitions present on the system). The RAM drive is mounted as drive X:.
- Create a new bootable Ghost ISO as follows:
- Ensure that the WinPE-10 or 11 image is used.
- Copy the DriversDB to the created USB bootdisk ( in this case to the root of the drive )
- Select "Include Deploy Anywhere Driver Database with the image"
- Restore the image using Ghost.
- Exit Ghost but do not reboot.
- Establish which drive is the USB Boot Disk, and that it contains a "DriverDB" directory.
- Using Ghost to view mounted drives.
- By checking C:, D: and other drives.
- Using Diskpart > "List Volumes".
- Go to X:\Ghost.
- To check the correct drivers are present, run "DeployAnywherex64 /target=C:\windows /ddb=D:\DriversDB /eval" where C: is the newly restored image volume and D: is the BootDisk.
- If drivers are present, run "DeployAnywherex64 /target=C:\windows /ddb=D:\DriversDB /handleNonCriticalDrivers=minisetup /byPassDrvVali=ALL /notUseLeagacyDriverInstaller".
- Reboot the system.
- It will take some time to run a customized sysprep process and will reboot before becoming available.
