Issue/Introduction

When attempting to apply PTF's RO91353, RO92295, RO94430, RO94531, RO94922, RO96090, and RO97511 the apply fails due to RO97511 generating the following errors:

GIM69168E ** HFSCOPY PROCESSING TO THE CFGBPLAT LIBRARY FAILED FOR HFS ZMSVMEEA IN SYSMOD RO97511.

BPXF140E RETURN CODE 00000081, REASON CODE 0594003D. A LINK FAILED FOR LINK NAME /usr/lpp/isv/cai/ccsuss/cfgb/CA/..//messageService/keystores/pas.

Cause

In researching the PTF's applied, it was found that the Problem Description in PTF RO97511 specifies that 'if PTF RO91353 is applied at the same time as either of PTFs RO94430, RO94531, or RO96090, the apply will fail because the directory instance/messageService/keystores does not exist.'

Environment

  • Supported z/OS level
  • CA Common Services r14.1

Resolution

In order to resolve this problem along with necessary Pre-reqs and PE'd PTF RO91353, it was recommended to apply related PTF's RO92295, RO94922, RO91353, RO94430, RO94531, RO96090, RO97511 one at a time in that order making sure to follow the documented HOLD ACTION where found.

Additional Information

In checking the BPXF140E error message Reason Code in OMVS (by entering command   bpxmtext 0594003D), it was confirmed that Reason Code 0594003D  means:  'A directory in the pathname was not found'.
