When trying to drag a package into the archive, it is failing with the following error:

On the system where distrv is installed, we see this in the event logs after attempting to import the package:
Faulting application name: distsrv.exe, version, time stamp: 0x55b7aee0
Faulting module name: MSVCR90.dll, version 9.0.30729.6161, time stamp: 0x4dace5b9

Faulting application start time 0x01d3ca9db8cd7898
Faulting application path: D:\Program Files (x86)\Nimsoft\probes\service\distsrv\distsrv.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc90.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.30729.616_none_50934f2ebcb7eb57\MSVCR90.dll
Report Id: 3af54a11-3765-11e8-832f-0050569210c7

As you can see, the event entry mentions an issue with the microsoft visual redistributable - "microsoft.vc90.crt".

This issue was found with UIM 8.51 and distsrv 5.30 / 5.40 but the information here is generally applicable to most versions of UIM.

To resolve this, perform the following:

> deactivate the distsrv probe
> deploy the latest visual studio redistributables from the archive to the distrv robot, both x64 and x86 - i.e. vs2010sp1_vcredist_x64 and vs2010sp1_vcredist_x86
**Note that is this is the primary hub, you will have to use Admin Console to deploy since distsrv is deactivated. Admin Console uses ADE***
> activate distsrv

Additional Information

This archive_config_from_probe_failed error can also appear for other reasons.
Sometimes, this can be resolved by simply redeploying the distsrv probe.
That is discussed in this article.
